Sea Green School aims to connect people and nature through outdoor learning in Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Lee. All sessions are run by qualified teachers and/or L3 Forest School/Sea School leaders. Activities include woodland and beach studies, shelter building, wildlife detectives, outdoor games, bush craft skills, natural arts and crafts and much more.
We are an 11-18 church academy, part of the St Christopher’s Trust, with nearly 1000 students including a popular and expanding Sixth Form. Students come from a wide geographical area stretching from Woolacombe across to the Somerset border. We are committed to the highest standards of academic excellence; we are dedicated to providing the best possible education for all our students by developing the knowledge, understanding and skills essential for learning and leading a fulfilled life.
All staff are Paediatric First Aid trained, hold Safeguarding Certificates and have achieved high level qualifications in Early Years Education. Our aim is to provide a variety of opportunities to enable children to develop to their full potential, learning to communicate with others and enjoy new challenges and grow within a happy, homely, secure and stimulating environment. We offer 42 places and are assessed as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. Our committed, friendly and well-qualified nursery team provides high quality care and learning opportunities for children aged between 0-5 years. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with a focus on learning through play and actively encourage parents to become involved in the life of the nursery.
Country Cousins provides opportunities for students to improve their grasp of English Language whilst becoming immersed in local culture. Our students take part in communicative English courses as well as participating in our exciting activity programmes including; Surfing, Adventure Sports, Street Dance, and much more. They stay with local host families which means they can practise what they are taught in class, as well as learning about the English way of life through first hand experience.
Ilfracombe Church of England Junior school is a large junior school, with nearly five hundred pupils aged 7 to 10, and approximately sixty staff. At the centre of our school philosophy is Lighting up Learning. We strongly believe that learning should be as enjoyable as possible as this helps and encourages children to engage more in the learning process.
With easy wheelchair access throughout the school and a wide range of outdoor learning spaces, we believe we have a fantastic building with excellent facilities and resources. We are also fortunate to have a purpose-built nursery and outdoor swimming pool all on the same site. Overall we provide a nurturing, stimulating and creative environment for children to feel safe, valued and inspired. Enabling them to experience a full range of activities and make the most of their learning.
