There is an opportunity for advice and signposting to other agencies and services, access to the homeless officer from North Devon Council (arranged) and the availability of food parcels, hygiene packs and clothes is also provided.

Opening times:   Tuesdays 9:45 – 14:00
Coffee, tea and toast from 9:45 to 11:00
Hot meals available 12:30 – 13:30
(This meal is freshly prepared every week using produce from local suppliers)

Civil Legal Advice

Free help for problems including:

  • Debt, if your home is at risk
  • Special educational needs

  • Domestic violence issues around a child being taken into care

Opening Times: Monday – Friday 9am – 8pm; Saturday 9.30am – 12:30pm

Devon Home Choice

Council and housing association homes available to let in Devon are advertised through Devon Home Choice each week on a Wednesday, together with other affordable housing options.

You can bid for up to 3 homes each week.

  • Fill in an application form (you can get theses from the NDC representative at the Ilfracombe Centre.
  • You will receive a letter confirming if you are eligible
  • Create an account on line www.devonhomechoice.com
  • Search on line and bid for properties. You can pick up a printed list at the Ilfracombe Centre each week, however you still have to use your on-line business account to bid for properties.

Encompass South West

Contact Lucy for an appointment. She is available at the Ilfracombe Centre at 10am to 1pm every Monday and at Transform4Work every Friday 10-1pm

Food Vouchers – Food Bank

Come to the Ilfracombe Centre, 44 High Street and speak to the North Devon Council representative to request food vouchers (Mon- Fri 9.00am – 12 noon and 2pm – 5pm) or you can also request food vouchers from Transform4Work at the Candar, Tuesdays and Fridays 10am – 1pm.

These can be redeemed at the Food Bank at the Salvation Army, Torrs Park, Ilfracombe to receive a food parcel on Tuesdays and Fridays 10.30am to 1.30pm.

Food banks are also available in Barnstaple and South Molton.

Get Connected

Get Connected is the free, confidential help for young people under 25 who need help and don’t know where to turn. The service is available 365 days of the year. Volunteers help explore their issues, offering emotional support and providing appropriate sources for further help.

Opening times: Phone or webchat  13:00 – 23:00 daily. By text or email – answered within 24 hours.

The housing options team provide free advice and information to prevent homelessness and to help you understand all of your housing options.

A dedicated officer will be your main point of contact.
