The Targeted Family Support programme works to improve the lives of families in complex situations, where children may be out of education, parents are not in work or if there is crime and antisocial behaviour in the family.
A 12 week course on a one-to-one basis for families with children under 5, you will look at ways to get the balance between being active and eating healthily. Families will work as a team to become an all round healthy and happy family.
Looking at You Baby is an 8 week group for parents with their babies 6 months and under. This group has been developed from research that tells of the importance of parents understanding what their babies are trying to communicate before they can use words to ask for what they want. It is a small friendly group with no more than 8 parents and their children.
All the centres offer a variety of drop-in activities to encourage early play and learning. These include stay and play, singing and story time sessions. The drop in groups run on a first come, first serve basis and are free of charge. Parents and carers with a baby or child under 5 years, including dads, grandparents and childminders are all welcome.
Parents and carers can also access a range of other useful services from the centres, including health and parenting advice, adult learning opportunities and help to get back into training and employment.
