Aikedo

Aikedo is a Japanese martial art which focuses not on punching or kicking opponents, but rather on using their own energy to gain control of them or to throw them away from you. It is not a static art, but places great emphasis on motion and the dynamics of movement.
Classes are available for children and adults at the Slade Community Centre at the following times:
Mondays: Adults 7.30 – 9.30pm
Saturdays: Children 9.30am – 11am; Adults 11am – 12.30pm

Beaver Scouts

Beaver Scouts are young boys and girls usually aged between six and eight years old. They belong to the first and youngest section in the scouting family.  Their colony is a friendly and active place for your child to join – they get up to all sorts of things, including day visits, sleepovers, arts and crafts, exploring the outdoors and much more!

Belle’s Place, formerly known as The Real McCaf, is a safe and friendly environment for young people to meet and socialise.
Run by qualified and experienced youth workers who offer advice, support, guidance and information on a wide range of areas affecting young people. With access to other agencies and the wider community.
All young people from the school year 7 are warmly welcomed to come and check us out.
We offer a range of activities and facilities along with our chilled café:

  • Art and crafts
  • Dance
  • Internet access
  • Cooking
  • Life skills
  • Games/ sports
  • Pool table
  • Make-up/hair

Brookdale Church

Brookdale Church is a local group of Christians. Every Sunday they meet together to worship God.  They also offer activities throughout the week including youth facilities, a mini sports hall for five a side football, volleyball, basketball, plus a coffee bar with table tennis and two pool tables.

Lighthouse Club: for children in years 3, 4 & 5 at school

Friday Club: for children in years 6, 7, 8 & 9 at school

Holiday Bible Club : for children in reception to year 6 at school

Carol Anne Netball Club

Carol Anne Netball Club is a thriving, friendly North Devon netball club with over 200 members, 10 teams playing in the senior North Devon Netball League and a number of teams in the junior league.

 

 

Club 8 Youth Club/ Club 67 Youth Club

Brookdale Evangelical Church hold a Youth Club on Friday evenings for children in year 8 at school. We provide underground youth facilities, including a mini sports hall for five a side football, volleyball, basketball, plus a coffee bar with table tennis, two pool tables and table football.
