Local artist Ian Hudson can offer art classes for people of all abilities at:

  • Manor Hall, Berrynarbor, Thurdays 10-12.30 (10 week term £70).
  • North Devon Yacht Club in Instow Mondays 10.30am – 12.30 (10 wk term £70)
  • North Devon Yacht Club in Instow Mondays 2pm – 4pm (10 wk term £70)
  • North Devon Yacht Club in Instow Tuesdays 10am-1pm (10wk term £90)

Mixed ability groups, everyone welcome. Learn how to paint in watercolours. Life Drawing classes also available.

 

EFT Tapping

EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique, draws on the ancient wisdom of Chinese Medicine and blends it with modern Western psychology.
By tapping on the body’s meridian points, (the same points manipulated during acupuncture, you can quickly dissolve the energetic blocks that have been hindering your physical or emotional recovery.
EFT has been successfully tested and used to treat a wide range of conditions, from food cravings, depression, weight loss, headaches, joint pain, fear, anxiety, allergies, insomnia and addictions to name but a few.

Learn Devon

Learn Devon provide adult and community education courses in Devon covering everything from providing key skills to helping people improve at their hobbies. They run hundreds of courses at centres all across Devon, so whether you want to gain new skills, improve on existing ones, gain a qualification, learn skills to help you get back to work or just meet new people, they will help you find a course that is right for you.

 

Nana’s Kitchen Cookery Courses

Nana’s Kitchen in Combe Martin is a friendly bistro and Ildi the owner also runs cookery classes.  Classes are tailored to the needs of the class – so all levels are catered for. Each class has a maximum of 4 people. Classes run for 4 weeks and cost £50 in total. Items of food are included.

Classes are also available to anyone with learning disabilies, max 2 students per class.

North Devon Coast U3A

The University of the Third Age is a learning cooperative for people who draw upon the knowledge, experience and skills of their own members to organise and provide interest groups in accordance with the wishes of the membership.
U3As offer the chance to study different subjects such as art, crafts, local history, garden visits, opera, geology, walking and many others. Although called a University no academic qualifications are required to join. There is no formal teaching or learning and no examinations. There is no age limit but members tend to be retired, semi retired or approaching retirement.

Coffee mornings at 10.30am on the 1st Thursday of the month, at the Ilfracombe Golf Club.
Price: £2.50 includes entry tea/coffee with unlimited top-ups.

Monthly lunches on the second Thursday each month which includes a speaker with talks lasting around half an hour.
Price: £12.00 per person for a 2 course meal with tea/coffee.

Quay Drawing Classes are held at St. Anne’s Art and Community Centre on Tuesdays from 24th Feb to 24th March 2015.
Under the expert tuition of Pete Newell, you will start with drawing from still life exploring a variety of techniques and media. As the course develops you will be taken from drawing through to painting, working from a variety of subject matter concluding with finished pieces of work.
Each session may be stand alone or can be undertaken as part of the whole course.

  • Fully qualified tutors
  • All materials provided
  • Adults only
  • 10am-12pm at £18 per person, per session or £82 for all 5
  • 10am-1pm at £27 or £120 for all 5
  • Maximum 10 places per session
