Homelife Carers

Homelife Carers provide services to older people including people with memory impairment, learning and/or physical disabilities, life threatening illness, mental health problems, recovering from illness or recently discharged from hospital.

Services include:

  • Person services (shopping, collecting pension, managing personal affairs)
  • Home Help & Domestic Services (light domestic chores, general cleaning, washing up, laundry)
  • Preparation of meals
  • Nightcare


Ilfracombe & District Community Minibuses

  • Door to door service to Tesco’s, Barnstaple and the town centre every Friday AM
  • Service to Sainsburys, Barnstaple on alternate Thursdays AM
  • Ring and Ride into Ilfracombe door to door runs alternate Wednesday afternoons £2.50 return
  • Half day and Full day social trips to Lynton on alternate Thursdays
  • Ring and ride from home into Barnstaple is £4 return
  • Other charges are based on mileage at £1.50 per mile
  • Self-drive hire at £70 a day and £40 for half day plus replacing the diesel used




Ilfracombe Mindful Fair

The Lantern Centre will be hosting an Ilfracombe Mindful Fair on Thursday 1st March from 2-6pm.

A diverse group of service providers, groups and individuals will be on hand to provide FREE advice, support and information on ways to help keep your mind healthy.

Refreshments will be available at this FREE event & all are welcome.

Independent Living Centre (ILC)

The ILC offers a free and impartial assessment and information service to anyone looking for equipment to help them to live independently. They don’t sell equipment, but can work with you to look at your needs and find the best solutions. If you identify equipment that meets your needs they will talk to you about getting it through statutory services, or buying it yourself locally or online.


Macmillan CAB

Macmillan and the Citizens Advice Bureau offer a specialist support service if you are suffering from a serious illness or if you are caring for someone with a life limiting illness. Phil can give you a one to one service and even visit you in your home to help you with a number of issues including:

  • Benefits
  • Debts
  • Housing
  • Employment

Mankind Initiative National Helpline

The National Helpline is available for all men across the UK suffering from domestic violence or domestic abuse by their current or former wife or partner (including same-sex partner). They provide both emotional support and practical information.
