Free Fridays launched at The Ilfracombe Centre

One Ilfracombe, in conjunction with Devon Adult and Community Learning is offering extra sessions in support of the Free Fridays initiative run by Devon Libraries. The sessions in the ICT suite at The Ilfracombe Centre have recently been launched.

The suite is open to anyone over the age of 16. Open Computing will take place between 10am and 3:30pm and a Money Management course, which started on Friday 24th May 2013, takes place between 4-5pm.

Anyone who is interested can contact Adult Community Learning on 01271 864171, or email aclilfracombe-mailbox@devon.gov.uk.

Ilfracombe Library, in The Candar, also continues to offer Free Friday service from 9.00-17:00, with extra staff available to help people with their computer use.

Commenting further, Morgan Quick, Devon Community Development Co-ordinator said: “People can drop in and talk to our extremely friendly tutor to discuss what they would like to be helped with on the Open Computing session – this first session is free for everyone. They are then welcome to sign up for more in depth courses and qualifications, many of which are free to anyone who meets our concessions criteria. These include Beginner’s Computing, Internet and Email or Word Processing.

The Money Management course is a perfect course for anyone who has recently had changes to their income – for example those who have recently had their benefits switched from weekly to monthly.”
