ILFRACOMBE COMMUNITY FUN DAY – SATURDAY 27 SEPTEMBER, 10-3PM

You are invited to a Community fun day, which will take place on Saturday 27 September, between 10 and 3pm. The fun day will take place around Ilfracombe seafront including the old Victorian Pleasure Ground below Capstone Hill.

There will be a wide range of events and things to do for the whole community, including facepainting, a bouncy castle, a majorette display and a show from Exmoor Zoo. There will be different vehicles used by various services for attendees to explore.

There will also be a raffle and a car wash at Pip and Jim’s church on St James’s Place to help obtain funds for youth activities in Ilfracombe.

One Ilfracombe Town Team members will be holding various demonstrations from firework safety and chimney fire awareness by the Fire Service through to fingerprinting and property marking by the Police.

Team members from One Ilfracombe’s Town Team will be available to talk to on the day.

Dan Lester from Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue said: “This is a fantastic chance to provide a fun day out whilst giving an insight into the workings of your local Fire and Rescue Service. The event will provide residents and visitors the chance to receive advice and support on a range of issues with a special emphasis on safety in the home, fireworks and, due to the time of year chimney fires. There will be a safety stand where children and adults can learn how to be safe in their homes and outdoors.”
