New defibrillator in Ilfracombe

There is a new defibrillator in Ilfracombe, with the first one under the arches on the High Street.

The new defibrillator has been placed in a bright yellow box on the wall of the lifeboat station between the lifeboat station and the Harbour amusement arcade.

This defibrillator is for the use of ANY member of the public and when 999 contacted and the ambulance control are told there is someone unconscious and not breathing they will be told the location of the nearest defib and the CODE.

When the box is opened the defib is in an orange sleeve, this sleeve needs to be removed and the defib is then opened, once opened there will be automated instructions on what to do and how to use the defib, you DO NOT have to be a trained first aider to use this equipment.
