THE PEOPLE’S VOICE – parking in and around Ilfracombe

Ilfracombe Town Council is calling on members of the community to have their voices heard through the “People’s Voice”, which is raised at the Full Council meeting, bi-monthly.


Beforehand, people are invited to highlight through the Town Council Engagement Co-ordinators, issues which are resonant to them, and some of the solutions they feel may help solve these problems.


The main issue, which is decided by the Community Engagement Coordinators, is then brought to the Full Council meeting, with opportunities for discussion. This issue is then explored further, with feedback brought to the next Full Council meeting.


The next issue to be discussed under the People’s Voice will be about parking in and around Ilfracombe, on Monday 14th September at 7pm.


So far points raised through the People’s Voice are:


-Yearly resident parking permits, for areas with little or no street parking
– Hele Bay car park, and concerns for its future
– High Street parking issues around cost of parking, nowhere to load/ unload, and business permits

– Single yellow lines and the issues they cause

People can also drop into The Ilfracombe Centre between 9-5 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Sarah and Julia will be happy to act as advocates for the community at the Full Council meeting.
